Visiting your doctor can sometimes be an intimidating experience, especially if you’re not feeling well. To get the most out of the appointment and to make sure that your questions are addressed it’s best to come prepared. I encourage my patients to write down their questions, even if their concerns about any research they might have done on the internet. These questions lead to a good opportunity for your doctor to help you understand better the more subtle aspects of your symptoms. An important thing to remember, though, is that most appointments are limited by time, usually around 15 minutes, so be realistic about how much your doctor will be able to cover in that amount of time. If you feel you need more time ask for a longer appointment when you make it or schedule a second appointment.
